I remember Pastor Herbert Lee Fletcher for his short, sweet, yet powerful sermons. I remember him for his frankness and his firmness. I remember him for his smile. Annick and I extend our condolences to the family as they mourn the passing of a wonderful person.

Pastor Fletcher was strict, frim, but always fair. We all loved him because we recognized that he wanted us, as students, to be the best. Under his leadership, we were just that - THE BEST. The cadre of students who graduated under his leadership are the best in the world. With due respect to all concerned, those of us who were priveledged to have him as President of West Indies College are all leaders wherever we are serving, especially as workers for the S.D.A. organization. The leadership of the Conferences in West Indies Union, for example ,are all his students and without any contradiction they are doing an excellent job leading out in the spiritual life of these conferences.
One of my talents given to me by God - Sabbath School Superintendent- was nurtured by Pastor Fletcher at West Indies College .Whenever I did Sabbath School he was always there and afterwards he would find me to tell me whether the programme was good or whether it was was bad. Fortunately for me I always got a good assessment. :) He was a stickler for time however and always, always made me know whether I was 1 minute late starting the sabbath school :),or 5 minutes late ending it. This made me put extra time in, planning my programmes to make sure everything was just right so as to get his approval, and some 28 years later, I am still using my talents in Sabbath School. Thank You so much Pastor Fletcher!!!
My deepest condolences, go out to his family. The God of Love and Compassion will see you through this time of loss. God has also promised that if we who are left behind continue to be faithful we will see our loved ones again!!!
